Compare Personal Loan Options

A practical framework for reading actual lender offers side by side.

  • ✓Free educational resources
  • ✓Compare written terms
  • ✓Decisions belong to lenders

A personal loan comparison starts with written offers for your circumstances. General advertising is a useful introduction, but it does not establish the rate, amount or payment schedule a lender will offer you. My Fair Lending explains the comparison process without setting terms or making credit decisions.

Read the amount you would receive, APR, any fees deducted from the loan, payment amount, number of payments and total repayment. Check whether a charge applies to early repayment or missed payments. Keep a copy of each offer so you can ask the lender about a specific term rather than comparing from memory.

Consider the full repayment schedule alongside your existing obligations. A longer term may change the payment and the total cost in different ways. The right comparison uses all of the figures together rather than treating one advertised number as the whole decision.

A referral does not mean an offer is suitable or that you qualify. Availability and terms vary by state, lender and credit profile, and some products are unavailable in some states. We are a free referral and educational service, not a lender, and do not broker loans. Review the lender's disclosures before accepting.
