Understand the offer before you decide

My Fair Lending helps you explore personal loan information and referral options. We are a free referral and educational service, not a lender. Third-party lenders make credit decisions and set their own terms.

Clarity comes before a commitment

My Fair Lending is a free referral and educational website for people exploring personal loans. Our role is to explain the questions behind an offer: what you receive, what you repay, which fees apply and who you are dealing with. We do not make loans, credit decisions or loan offers, and we do not broker loans.

We use company voice because our information is about a process, not an invented expert or a customer success story. You will not find promises about approval, a particular rate or a funding date. Those decisions and terms belong to the lender, and availability varies by state, lender and individual circumstances.

More about us

How · it · works

What to expect, start to finish

1

Start with the information

Read the guides, identify the amount you need and consider the repayment obligation. You can use the educational material without accepting a loan.

2

Choose whether to continue

If you choose a referral or request link, review the destination and its privacy notice before sharing information. Products and eligibility vary by state and lender.

3

Review an actual offer

If a lender makes an offer, read its complete disclosures and ask the lender about unclear terms. A request or referral does not guarantee an offer, and you decide whether to accept.

Why · choose · us

Why Choose Us

A useful comparison includes the cost of borrowing, the payment schedule and the choices available before taking on a new obligation.

  1. 01

    Understand the written terms

Use the lender's disclosures to identify the APR, fees, amount received, payment schedule and total repayment. An advertised figure may not describe the offer made to you.

  2. 02

    Keep the roles clear

My Fair Lending provides referral and educational resources. The lender evaluates a request, decides eligibility and explains its own agreement.

  3. 03

    Consider the whole decision

A new loan adds a repayment obligation. Our guides include alternatives to borrowing and questions about whether an offer fits your circumstances.

Personal Loan Referral and Education FAQs — United States, Nationwide

Still have questions? We're happy to talk it through.

+ Is My Fair Lending a lender?
No. We are a free referral and educational service. We do not make loans, credit decisions or loan offers, and we do not broker loans.
+ Does submitting a request mean I will receive an offer?
No. Lenders assess requests using their own requirements. Some products are not available in every state, and not every applicant qualifies.
+ Who sets the rate and fees?
The lender sets its own APR, fees, repayment terms and other conditions. Read the specific lender's written offer rather than relying on general examples or advertising.
+ Can a lender check my credit?
Credit inquiries and reporting practices vary by lender and by stage of the process. Ask the lender whether a particular step involves a soft or hard inquiry and how it may affect your credit.
+ What should I compare besides the payment?
Review the amount received after any deducted fees, the payment count and schedule, APR, total repayment and other charges in the written disclosures. A smaller payment does not by itself establish a lower overall cost.
+ Do I have to accept an offer?
You choose whether to accept a lender's offer. Read the agreement and the lender's disclosures before making a commitment. Ask the lender directly about its process and conditions.
